Missing The Holidays?

This weekend Comedy Central has been airing a marathon of stand up comics. I was able to catch Jim Gaffigan's show. His show is hilarious. They are having people vote for their favorite comedian. I have no idea what they win. If your by a TV take a peak. Jim Gaffigan's part about the holidays is very funny so I thought I'd post the part about the holidays for your enjoyment.

Wedding Vendors

I'm looking to add a wedding vendor list on my blog. It will be located on the right side of the blog. Any wedding vendors (cake designers, florist, DJs, venues, etc...) who have a website and are interested add a comment to the bottom of this post. Or you can email me at info@gonzalesphotogaphy.com. I'm wanting to make it easier for brides to search for wedding vendors. They get onto my blog and can follow the links to your website.

Wedsite updated

I finally completed updating my website. No big changes to the website. You will notice that it is easier to navigate. If your looking for information on weddings, senior, or portraits you are now able to click straight to that page.
If you have any feed back (positive or negative) feel free to let me know.

I'm planning on updating the website at least 4 times this year. But continue to visit the blog which should be updated 3 times (or more) per week.

I may attempt to update my blog daily for a month sometime this year. We'll see what happens.

Number of visitors to the website

I was checking my website information. I've had the website up since January 2004.
The good sign is my numbers have been going up since 2005.

The totals are:

2004
Unique Visitors (first time visitors)- 462
Number of total visits- 659

2005
Unique Visitors- 383
Number of visits- 461

2006
Unique Visitors- 825
Number of visits- 1209

2007
Unique Visitors- 1255
Number of visits- 2024

I'm happy to see people are visiting for one and that there are return visitors. Since I haven't been updating the website much I'm sure the increase has to do with my blog. People are aways very excited to tell others to take a look at the blog to see their pictures and/or slide shows.
When I do post a slide show from a wedding or portrait session the number of visitors increases. The feed back has been very positive. Everyone at the wedding can take a look at the slide show within a week of the wedding.
I'm planning on doing slide shows for all weddings and session this year. The wedding packages all include the slide show posted online. Also if you have a favorite song or the song you first dance to at the reception let me know and I can use it on your slide show.

If you are wondering why the totals don't add up to the counter on the bottom of the website and blog. The counter was programmed in December 2005.

Updating my website.

I'm currently working on updating my website. It's been way over due. Nothing too serious just making it more user friendly (i.e. easier to navigate).

I hope 2008 has been good so far for everyone. If you made any new year resolutions hopefully you are sticking to them. As for me I don't make resolutions but I do want to improve with my blogging. I'm hoping to be able to blog more with more slide shows and images from photo shoots. Also posting other tide bits seeing how my blog is advertising for my business and also an online journal.

Brides and seniors be sure to reserve your dates ASAP.

Hall of Famer Goose Gossage

After nine years of Hall Of Fame eligibility Goose Gossage finally made the Hall. I have no idea what took so long. He is one of the greatest relief pictures in MLB history. He is also from and still lives in Colorado Springs.
I did have the pleasure of meeting Goose some years ago. I was in college at the time. Some friends and I were hanging out in a sports bar. It was my turn to buy a round and the waitress wasn't around so I went up to the bar. While waiting for the bartender to get my order I noticed a tall man with a Fu-Man-Cho mustache standing next to me. I instantly recognized that it was Goose Gossage. I looked around to see if anyone else had noticed. To my surprise no one did. I proceeded to introduce myself and ask for an autograph. He was very cool about my request. He signed a bar napkin for me and didn't seem to mind talking shop for a few minutes with me. Once I went back to the table where my friends were and told them who was at the bar my friends went for an autograph. At this time other people started to notice and before long Goose was surrounded by a lot of people.
I still have that autograph and it might be worth a little more as of today.
