Goodbye Summer

Today is the unofficial end of summer. I remember when I was entering the 5th grade. School use to start after Labor Day. Me and some of my friends, who lived on my block, sat on my porch and relived the summer that was ending that night. That memory has stuck with me since. As I became older most of the time I would say goodbye to summer on my own. Through high school, college, and young adulthood. Now with two sons of my own I continue this ritual. We just sit in the backyard and talk about the fun things that had happened. I haven't told them that it's something I've been doing since the 5th grade. But just like that night it's fun thinking of all the good times.
I hope everyone had a fun and safe summer.

Goodbye Summer
