Pueblo Colorado Portrait Photography | Off Camera Flash

The best part of using off camera flash is the ability to control what your image looks like.
The image below was shot in late afternoon while the sun was still very bright. The trick is to find some shade.

I placed my model in open shade to not have to fight the sun. Open shade means, shade but when you look up you see sky. I placed my flash to my left and had the model turn towards the light.

Here is a pull back shot of my setup. In this shot I exposed for the available light and not my flash.

As you can see when I expose for the available light the blue sky becomes white. I do like this look and it does have it's use. On a wedding day when I'm running and gunning I will expose for the available light but when I get time, out comes the flash.

Here is the same shot but I expose for the sky and use my flash to light my model.

Thanks for reading and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Currently it seems like Drupal is the preferred blogging platform out there right now.
(from what I've read) Is that what you are using on your blog?

Yesterday, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a forty foot drop, just so
she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad
is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this
is entirely off topic but I had to share it with
someone!
